Co-founded by Shoobz Events and led by Jack and Jerome, the organisation has spent the last year quietly building something special. Between January and December 2025, Shoobz delivered a series of artist showcases across Northampton, including the widely supported Shoobz x DreadyJamz showcase — creating consistent, meaningful live performance opportunities for emerging local artists alongside established industry names.

These events have featured rising local talent such as Silvz, Z1NO, and Lowae, while also hosting recognised artists including Unknwn T, Byron Messi, and Kojey Funds. Many of the performers are connected to our Youth Music network and community radio partners such as Inspiration FM, helping strengthen real pathways between grassroots talent and the wider music ecosystem.

The result? A growing community of artists, promoters, youth workers, and audiences who believe Northampton deserves more than one-off moments — it deserves infrastructure.

Introducing Encore: A Permanent Home for the Culture

Building on this momentum, Jack and Jerome have launched Encore Northampton — a permanent club night and venue operating as a Shoobz subsidiary. Encore officially launches on Saturday, 7 February 2026, marking the beginning of a new chapter in local nightlife.

Encore isn’t just another club. It’s being designed around four core principles:

  • Community-first programming

  • Safety and respect on nights out

  • High-quality sound and experiences

  • Consistent celebration of emerging talent

The aim is simple: give Northampton a reliable space where culture can grow, not just pass through.

Sitting Down with Jack & Nick: What to Expect from Encore

We also caught up with Jack and Nick — co-producers of Encore alongside Jerome. Nick brings extensive hospitality and pub experience to the partnership, helping shape Encore not only as a cultural space, but as a professionally run venue that prioritises customer experience.

They spoke honestly about:

What to expect from Encore

  • Curated line-ups mixing DJs, live artists, and showcase nights

  • A strong emphasis on sound quality and atmosphere

  • Clear standards around behaviour, safety, and respect

Successes so far

  • Growing trust with artists and audiences

  • Consistent attendance at showcases

  • Building a recognisable Shoobz identity in the town

Failures & lessons

  • Events that didn’t land as expected

  • Learning the importance of pacing growth

  • Understanding that consistency beats hype

Being young club owners

  • The pressure of responsibility

  • Balancing creativity with business realities

  • The importance of surrounding yourself with people who know more than you

Their message was clear: owning a venue isn’t glamorous — it’s hard work — but it’s worth it when you’re building something that didn’t exist before.

Why This Matters

Northampton has talent. It always has.

What’s been missing is consistent, youth-facing, culture-led infrastructure. Shoobz and Encore represent a practical step toward fixing that — not with talk, but with real spaces, real stages, and real opportunities.

For Rekordshop, this partnership reflects the same ethos we operate by: creating access, building pathways, and supporting young people to turn creativity into something tangible.

If you’re an artist, DJ, creative, or simply someone who cares about Northampton’s music culture, this is your invitation to be part of what comes next.
